Nanatsu-iro Drops: First Love That Encompasses You

Okay, I need you to follow me on this one because it starts normal and then goes completely off the rails in the best possible way. Tsuwabuki Masaharu, or Haru to his friends, is your standard middle school kid. Second year, still has not talked to most of his classmates, a little on the clumsy side, the kind of guy who trips over flat surfaces and says sorry to inanimate objects. His buddies are trying to push him out of his shell, encouraging him to actually speak to people, and he is doing his best but progress is slow. Classic awkward teenager situation.

And then one afternoon, in the hallways of Hoshigaoka School, his life goes absolutely sideways. He has a bizarre encounter that ends with him accidentally drinking a magical potion. Yes, you heard me right. A magical potion. In a school hallway. As one does. And what does this potion do, you ask? Does it give him super strength? The ability to fly? Invisibility? No. It turns him into a stuffed animal sheep. At night. Every night. When the sun goes down, this ordinary teenage boy becomes a fluffy, adorable, cotton-stuffed sheep creature. His insides are literally made of cotton now. I cannot stress enough how ridiculous and wonderful this is.

To reverse the curse, Haru needs to collect star droplets that fall from the sky. But since his sheep form is not exactly built for athletic achievement, given that he is essentially a plush toy with legs, he needs help from a special person. And surprise surprise, that special person turns out to be someone from his very own class. So now Haru is living a double life. By day, he is the same awkward kid stumbling through middle school. By night, he is Yuki-chan, a stuffed sheep, relying on a classmate to help him catch falling stars. And somewhere in between the magical nonsense and the daily school drama, feelings start developing. Real, genuine, butterfly-in-the-stomach feelings. Because apparently even a curse that turns you into a plush farm animal cannot stop love from doing its thing.
